Diagnostic Assessment & Clinical Consultation

What is it?

Diagnostic assessment services are provided by trained mental health professionals. The diagnostic assessment consists of an interview to identify mental health or emotional behavioral conditions, determine eligibility for mental health services, and inform a mental health treatment plan.

A diagnostic assessment (DA) is a written report that documents the clinical and functional face-to-face evaluation of a recipient’s mental health, and includes:

  • Current personal strengths and existing support resources
  • Personal and family history
  • Nature, severity, and impact of mental health condition
  • Functional impairment and behavioral difficulties

Basic living and social skills:

ARMHS providers help individuals build skills in areas of life essential for every day, independent living, when symptoms of their mental health have decreased functioning abilities. ARMHS helps people improve their skills in:

  • Interpersonal communications
  • Using community resources
  • Budgeting, shopping, and healthy lifestyles
  • Mental illness symptom management
  • Household management
  • Employment-related skills
  • Basic living and social skills may be provided individually or in a group setting.

Basic Living & Social Skills

As part of our psychiatric rehabilitation programs, we offer basic living and social skills training to assist individuals in making sound decisions for their health and lifestyle with regular skills education and application. Everyone should have the chance to take control of their life with comprehensive support.

Our basic living and social skills training focus on the following areas:

  • Food and nutrition
  • Physical activity
  • Self-care Finances
  • Community living
  • Medication management
  • Education and employment
  • Crisis management
  • And more

Community Intervention

Mental challenges can affect an individual’s connections with the community, and in turn, for these individuals, we offer better transition to the community that reduces the risk of hospitalization and admission to facilities with restrictive environments. Ideally, this program puts collaboration and participation together, as we usually ask for the help of healthcare professionals, organizations, and the individual’s family and loved ones.
